How to uninstall sybase in linux

In this article, we will see how to uninstall Sybase or ASE in Linux with console mode. Uninstall can be all features or selected features. Before uninstall, please take backup of data. Following command is used to uninstall Sybase from Linux servers.

./uninstall -console

Steps to uninstall:

1. Goto sap/sybuninstall/ASESuite directory and run the following command:

root@ubuntu:/opt/sap/sybuninstall/ASESuite# ./uninstall -console

2. Then select complete all features or specific features to removed.

Uninstall Options ----------------- ENTER THE NUMBER FOR YOUR CHOICE, OR PRESS TO ACCEPT THE DEFAULT: ->1- Completely remove all features and components. 2- Choose specific features that were installed by InstallAnywhere. Please choose one of the following options:: 1

3. Then, review the summary and press enter

Pre-Uninstall Summary --------------------- SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise will be uninstalled from the following location: /opt/sap with the following features: Adaptive Server Enterprise Open Client DB-Library ASE Extension Module for Python ASE Database Driver for PERL ASE Extension Module for PHP jConnect 16.0 for JDBC Interactive SQL QPTune SySAM License Utilities SAP Control Center Remote Command and Control Agent for Adaptive Server Management User Interface for SAP Adaptive Server ASE ODBC Driver PRESS TO CONTINUE:

4. It will ask us to delete all the files. If you want delete them then type ‘Y’.
